Brockley Central Drinks III - Judgement Day

May 8th, 8pm - The Talbot

There have only been two other Brockley Central drinks nights and both were quite different. So to call the third one a 'BC Drinks with a difference' is a little unnecessary. But whereas normally the intention is to achieve as little as possible, other than to get to know your neighbours, this time, it will be different.

The management team of the Talbot have offered to talk to attendees, to explain their plans to redevelop the Talbot. So you can drink and learn at the same time.

See you there.

Yaaaay! I'll definitely be there. It would be great to see as many BC readers & posters as possible.

As long as they know we're coming - if as many people turn up to the Talbot as turned up to Jam Circus, they'll be overwhelmed, I get the impression they usually only have 1 person behind the bar which is propped up by a couple of old soaks...

Excuse me but I take objection to being referred to as an Old Soak...

I would have been in there anyway for the Thursday night quiz; is there going to be a clash or are all the bloggers going to enter?

Might have to cancel your night off that week Rob....

Oops sorry TM, I forgot you were a regular....

Heh, The Talbot is only around the corner from me so how could I not come along for one? That and sheer curiosity...

Thursday is usually Salsa night for me, but I'll come for a quick one or two (non alcoholic) drinks before heading off late!

I'll be there. Do we have to wear a carnation or carry a copy of SE4?

Oh this sounds like a great idea. Have never been to the Talbot. But I won't be driving there ;-)

That's OK HH, I just don't like being reminded that I'm getting old....

you're only as old as you feel....!

I thought the saying went "you're only as old as the woman/man* you feel...."

Hello. Honestly now - is this a cliquey affair, or are you people friendly to strangers in your midst???

I don't know any of you from Adam. I'd consider turning up but have to be reasonably confident that the natives are friendly...

Nor cliquey at all! In fact most would not recognise each other. The made up names and real names confuse the issue further. And a lot of anonymous people turn up. It is all very confusing. So everyone is generally open and nice.

....then we all get drunk and go up to the stone circle on Hilly Fields and ravish each other until dawn....

Enjoy the drinks everyone, sorry I won't be able to make it.

I am especially disappointed as the drinke are at the right end of Brockley this time!

"Ravish each other til dawn"? Did I miss something at the last drinks? I thought you all left a bit early....

I might come along, under the circumstances.

I suggest you take some extra lightbulbs though, as the Talbot seems to be oddly short of them. Last time I had a look in there I nearly walked into a wall it was that dark.

I doubt I'll be able to attend this, but if there are more later in the year, I'll likely be able to.

I'll be there, though it might be a bit later on.
