"Doggy Ice Cream Challenge Antonello immigrant for love"

BC-ite Monkeyboy has, somehow, spotted this article about the Brockley Rise restaurant Le Querce, which appears in a Sardinian newspaper. Reading it using Google translate leaves a little to be desired but the article is about why the team moved to London and what their experiences have been since they got here.

Is cheese ice cream really the secret of their success? Click here to find out.

So we have to refer to it as "The Oaks" now do we?

To my shame I've never been there, something that after reading this article feels like a serious lack.

He sounds like a thoroughly good guy that knows his stuff and loves his food.

Love this place. We went there on New Years Eve, before a cheeky pint in the Wickham Arms and heading home to play scrabble(Yeah! how rock and roll are we!?).

Service is fantastic and really nice to be somewhere we you can really feel it is family run.

I love the fake map they have that shows Sardinia next to England.

Funnily enough if it was given a folksy name like "The Oaks" the mungs would love it.

STILL waiting for that review of Dominic's Pizza by the way.

Erm....well review it then? Is it exactly like every other generic pizza place within 1 mile radius or is it sufficiently different to be interesting? If you want a simple list of eateries then look in Yellow Pages.

By the way, it is called The Oaks.... in Italian. That's because it's owned by an Italian - weird.

Don't 'the mungs' already love it? Look at the comments above yours, dullboy.
Oh, and my review of Dominic's Pizza is: it's average. That do you?

I have never been to La Querce, as it's quite a walk from where I live, but I know I should overcome my laziness as the comments on here are always so positive. Ditto for Babur.

I have tried Dominic's Pizza, many moons ago. Didn't like it at all, I'm afraid. Very stodgy and doughy.

Dominics: cheap, soggy bread sticks. Constipated the next day. Doorway smelt of wee.

Their pepperoni pizza is fantastic actually. And the BBQ wings are really worth trying too. Put the snobbery down and give it a go.

It's not snobbery to try something and not particularly like it though, is it? It's called a difference of opinion - get over it.

Le Querce is nothing like a regular pizza joint. It's a great quality family Italian that happens to sell pizzas - not even every night.

It's a great asset to the area. Here's an old review of mine, back when I used to blog more frequently...
