Shunt, London Bridge
The Shunt Lounge, the theatre company, bar and gallery based in the vaults beneath London Bridge station is due to close in June - hopefully to reappear in a Bermondsey warehouse.
This wonderful video of an alternative London sight-seeing tour conveys its unique appeal. We recommend you watch the whole thing, but you can see Shunt at around 3.00 mins.
At around 6.30 mins, there's also a story which might give BrocSoc some ideas.

Cool film!
I have seen the entry to Shunt inside Lonodn Bridge station, but never known what it was before. I thought it was a nightclub judging by some of the people going in there.
I can see a tank on the site of the old speedicars. But where would the gun barrel point?
The tank one made me smile!
Good grief, had no idea about that pet cemetery in Hyde Park ... brilliant film, thanks for posting it!
Great place, and Brockley Ukulele Group are playing there on Thursday night (23 April).
I've seen the Brockley Ukulele Group doing their Uke Box set at the Amersham Arms. Great fun, especially after a few pints.
What time are they playing on Thursday, Transpontine?
I'm going on Thu. Trying to cram a few visits in before it shuts
Shunt rocks - I heard it closes May 9th. Sadness.
BUG will be on around 9:30 I think - details including flyer here
Thanks for posting that video - really enjoyed it!
Thanks for that - great little film.
I lived in Vauxhall for 10 years and never spotted the little St Pauls on the side of the bridge.
Shame on me.
Has anyone got any other tips for unknown bits of London?
Do you HAVE to be a member to get into the Shunt?
Shunt at London Bridge is now closed, not sure whent the new venue in Bermondsey St opens.
The lounge looks very cool and reminds me of the Tunnel Bar in Northhampton, MA. It's an old train station and a great place to hang out.
