The Anchor becomes The Bridge in Lewisham

Darryl from 853 reports that The Anchor pub in Lewisham has reopened as The Bridge. The Lewisham Hill boozer has been taken over by the former owner of The Hardy in Greenwich and as Darryl says, the new landlord has a decent track record.

Looks just as evil from the outside (now painted funereal black) as it did prior to take over so a lot of work to do, I think.

It has changed name before, and then went back to the Anchor.

Just to clarify, the guy who's running it now used to own Hardys Free House (as opposed to Frank Inc's Admiral Hardy) in Greenwich. He had it for 23 years, and turned it into a fine boozer which sold the best Guinness in London.

I don't know what the new owner of the Bridge/Anchor's plans are, though- the revamp's not finished yet and it looks a bit bare inside, but if Pete runs it like he ran Hardys it'll end up being a very snug local.

Hardy's also ran art exhibitions from time to time, I suppose under Pete's tutelage. I hope that happens at The Bridge.
