Saw this from the vintage point of Mr Gulens excellent kebab emporium. All seemed fairly low key at the time although one of the kebab technicians was concerned about blood on his car :-0

Kebab technicians, I like it and will be plaigarising accordingly.

Nick, you could have at least given the anti-BC conspiracy nits something to go on here by referring to it as "South New Cross pub, the Brockley Barge" in the article.

Back on topic though, seemed fairly low key when I went through on the bus last night so probably all in hand.

I sought refuge in the excellent Gulen cocktail bar - which seems to now be running a 90s indie disco. Indie hits and £5 cocktails. Can't say fairer than that .

Gulens do a lovely chicken or lamb wrap now which we had the pleasure of eating on our way home from the Tate Modern last week. Thank you Ali.

The story that I heard from the close proximity of the Barge was that a man, who is known around Brockley, was pursued by a gang of Albanian heavies who chased him into the Barge, surrounded him and had a fight in the corner of the pub. In the tussle, they knocked over chairs and smashed one table to the floor. The heavies got the guy and began to bundle him into the boot of their car which was parked outside. In a desperate attempt to stop the car boot door going down the man had the fingers of his hand smashed off, hence the blood spattering.

What he had done to the Albanian gang to get their goat, I know not, but they sent out a clear message that evening, don't mess with them!!

Blimey. The po-faced Boden wearing cosy families of the conservation area aren't going to like that.

There was no albanian gang involved!

Anon 13:11:

1) What right thinking person does like crime and violence?

2) What's wrong with Boden? It's a brand of clothing. So what?

You will be a happier person if you cease making chippy statements and engaging in pointless class warfare

That's the spirit. More asparagus, Mungo?

Ok, assuming you are Anon 13.11, I suggest you think about your life and how well it is going. You are spending your Sunday afternoon baiting people in an online community chatroom. I'm sure your parents would not be proud

Anon. I'm sure the guy who was bundled in to the boot wasn't terribly middle class and I'm sure he doesn't appreciate your class warfare on his behalf. loser.

Thanks for the tip on Boden clothes by the way. They have a cotton tropical suit in ivory in the sale that would work well for me when the cherry blossom's back out on our street!

Cheers.

I heard that it was an attempted kidnapping.

I wonder what this guy has been up to merit this sort of treatment.

Albanians? Is that the word on the street?

At anon: 13:03

The word on the street is Albanians. Not sure what he had done but he apparently has a reputation. If I hear anything further, I probably won't post it on BC.
