We're creating a thread, following a positive report from BC regular Tressillianna, who writes:

The owner Peter cut my son's hair very well last week. There is a new female stylist who cut my hair this morning, which was an excellent cut at an excellent price.

She is doing a promotion at the moment - £15 for cut and blowdry. I really would strongly recommend people to give this salon a try. You might be pleasantly surprised!

I was there at the weekend and they are very friendly, offer tea etc... got a nice head massage from the lady there and a good good from the guy - all for £15. Result.

Having visited this establishment many times (in all its guises over the last decade and a bit), I've always emerged with both ears still attached to my head, and my hair shorter than when I went in, so no complaints. They used to have a friendly blonde Lithuanian girl. She was my favourite.

Lithuanian was Lina? Lyna? and she used to do a great head massage

Heat has always been fine for my cuts - really friendly owner Peter

Why's my comment been removed?
Don't you believe I had my haircut yesterday? What's going on? What's the point of this thread?

I had my hair cut here last night by Mandy, it was fabulous as always!

Be aware though that she is going away for a month on holiday as from next week so you might want to get in touch before she goes!

Peter, is one of the greatest hairdresser I have come across the amount of things he can do with a comb and some clippers is amazing. Also the new girl there is good too. Cant wait until my hair grows back so I can relax and get it cut. 10 out of 10.

A really nice and elegant hairdressers, theres a really friendly and genuine atmosphere. All the workers are very warming, they offer you refreshments. Not only are they genuinely nice people but they show a lot of care when cutting hair, and are really good at their jobs.
Top top place at a very reasonable price.
I chose to come here as it would recommended by a friend, I thought I would just give a try and see how it is. And it is very pleasing.

I tried this place for the first time today, after reading all the excellent online reviews on this site.

I was not disappointed! A very friendly bunch of people plying me with offers of free tea or coffee. And after the head massage, I could have fallen asleep on the sofa in the salon!

The guy (sorry, didn't get his name) took a great deal of time and care to make sure that the style was just what I wanted.

Brilliant haircut and great value for money.

Go there!

What is "great value for money"? Tony in Nunhead cuts my hair for £8.

You don't get tea but if it looked as if I had to wait that long to have my hair cut, I'd leave in any case. In and out of the barbers in 15-20 minutes is about right.

I am a bit late to this party, but after reading the comments here I had my hair cut at Heat today (by a Polish lady; Paulina I think was her name, although probably not spelled like that). I am really chuffed with it: best hair cut I have had anywhere for ages and it only cost £25 for a wash and cut (without elaborate blowdrying).

I have been getting my haircut by Pete for the last 6 years - pretty much the entire time he's been open. There's noone better. I wouldn't consider changing hairdressers. True, his price has gone up a bit rapidly over the last couple of years but that's only because he was seriously undercharging for his skill level for much too long. £15 is about right for any quality London hairdresser for a guy's cut.

Peter takes his time, really cares about the customer getting what they want and is as friendly as they come. He's also extremely capable and keeps up to date with styles and techniques. That fella who commented that he got his hair cut by Tony in Nunhead for £8 - that's fair enough if all you want is a razor spun round your head a few times but with respect to the guy (and I went, ONCE, some years back and once was enough), he wouldn't have the first clue how to style hair in anything but short-back-and-sides. Fine if that's what you're after but you'll look like a thug for a week or so.
