New westside sandwich bar opening soon
Long-time BC pigeon Michael reports that the fit-out work taking place in one of the Mantle Road units (same block as Bohemia Hair) is a new sandwich and smoothie joint, due to open within a couple of weeks. He adds that it will source much of its produce locally.
A sandwich shop would add something new to the local mix and, to give Pavilion their due, it's one of the types of businesses they predicted would eventually open in this row when we interviewed them back in 2007!
It's great to see these units filling up at last, as Jude Court inches towards completion.

I thought it said ''smoothie'' bar?
Never mind.
The Wickham Arms is the best place to pick yourself up a smoothie.
good news. This road/area is improving all the time.
"He adds that it will source much of its produce locally."
How is this important or relevant?
Do we have to criticise absolutely everything?
They intend to create an 'Anon' smoothie. They say it will povide a wake up call and will be 'Bitter & Sour'
I for one can't wait.

It means more of the economic benefit will be retained locally - other shops / suppliers will benefit.
That begs the question - are we going to have any Brockley specific smoothies? Mung bean orientated? They will surely be a big hit..!

Hahahaha!!!! 'Mung bean orientated'! LOL! Amazing. Why has nobody ever done this joke before??!! It's so original - I think I just wet myself!!!
Damn, I thought you'd left the borough, catwipe.
Forgive the Catman - he's working on a lower wattage than most people...

That'll do thank you. No more cat baiting please.
It is incredible to think that it wasn't that long ago when the only food venue around there was Eternal Jerk.
@MB lol, I'm learing to ignore the Anons, trolls and Humphs of the world through my experiences on this site; it truly is a microcosm of life Nick. BTW where is this 'Westside' you speak off? ;)
is it likely to survive as a business there though?
The wrong (or right) side of the North-South railway track (depending on your perspective). Basically, Foxwell Mews, Mantle Road, St. Asaph Road and Dundalk, Finland, Revelon and Arica. Strangely wedged in a triangle of railway tracks it doesn't have a particular focal point unlike the surrounding areas.
I am, in fact, looking for people to deliver Telegraph Hill Festival programmes (between 4th and 10th March) throughout this patch (and across to Avignon Road and down to Brockhill Crescent) so if you want to connect with your West side please get in touch.

Can we allow it open first before speculating about it's demise?
