Telegraph Hill bus fire
Thanks to Ian and Ben, who sent us these photo of a bus and car fire on Telegraph Hill at the top of Pepys Road, which occured at approximately 8.30am today. The fire is now put out and you can see photos of the wreckage on Transpontine's blog and the best photos of all on Demotix.
Ben has also provided us with video of the fire:
The Daily Mail has a report of what happened, quoting one passenger, saying: 'People were saying the driver saw a spark. He got everybody off the bus and within minutes it was ablaze.'

Political action by the mung bean elite? I can imagine a coded message being left in a handwritten artisan card!
Thank you once again for informative photos. I tweeted a little while ago asking if something had crashed, having heard a bang so loud it made my house shake. I'm right on the end of Drakefell, next to Pepys Road. I am assuming it was the explosion that caused my windows to rattle. Do hope no one is hurt.
Transpontine says he understands no one is hurt. Astonishing photos of the burnt out bus on his blog:

Thanks for that video. The woman makes a better door than she does a window.
Oh, the burnt 343!
Did the fire actually leap across the road and set the car on fire? Or did they start of closer and then one of them pulled out of the way?
Thanks goodness nobody was hurt. This was no publicity stunt for Fiddler on the Roof, taking place today and tomorrow as part of the incredible Telegraph Hill Festival. Performances at 4.30 and 6.30pm. Buy your tickets early to avoid disappoinment. A must see show.
I understand that the heat from the fire caused a tyre to explode on a car on the opposite side of the road, setting it on fire.
I thought it was just the Bendy Buses which burnt.
Try saying that after a few pints ;0)
Good news that no one was hurt.
No. The bendy buses burnt badly but the Boris buses barely burn.
Thank God sunshine is ok
Think you-know-who exploded in self righteous indignation?
The Daily Mail has the scoop... the picture of the bus is rather scary

Was trying to find out about the 484 that caught on fire at the Turnham Road bus stop, and came across this which occurred a year and 3 days before, obviously not far from the Turnham Road bus stop. How peculiar?!?
