The Broca applies for alcohol licence

The Broca cafe on Coulgate Street is hoping to go boozy. It's submitted an application to serve alcohol between 7am and midnight.

Neighbouring cafe, Brown's of Brockley, secured a licence in 2011, putting it to good effect with evening events while the instant popularity of The Gantry's bar has underlined the local demand for more places to drink.

I think the Broca would be perfect as a night spot. It has that slight ramshackle vibe that Moonbow's used to have, and (neighbours permitting) there could be some good standing outside drinking action come summer.

It would be great if both the Broca and Brown's could get outdoor seating / tables in summer... suppose that depends on the achievement of Coulgate St. pedestrianisation as part of 180 Brockley Road (or some other means), though.
